I’m Susan Brooks—an oil painter, writer, and editor exploring the space where visual art and language meet. My work is shaped by a lifelong connection to story, from early influences like Go, Dog. Go! to years spent working closely with writers and manuscripts.
My paintings focus on expression, color, and the subtle emotional layers that often go unspoken. They are less about capturing a moment and more about revealing what lives underneath it.
Alongside my studio practice, I work as a freelance book editor and writing coach, supporting authors in developing and refining their work. I also integrate Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) into creative coaching, helping writers move through blocks, shift patterns, and reconnect with their voice.
